Matsumoto Trading Proposes Passion Fruit Seed Extract Oil

Matsumoto Trading proposes PASSIOLINE (Arysta Health and Nutrition Science), an oil extracted from passion fruit seeds produced in Peru, which is discarded during the juice manufacturing process. It promotes the proliferation and movement of cells necessary for skin repair, and reconstructs the entire skin from the epidermis, basement membrane, and dermis.

This product has won the Gold Award at the in-cosmetics Innovation Zone Best Active Ingredient Award in the past.

In addition to upcycling what was previously discarded, the unconventional extraction method was highly evaluated. The unsaponifiable substances contained in the oil are concentrated using a unique molecular distillation method.

Not only the PASSIOLINE oil, but also the fruit extract "ORMESIA" (Arista Health and Nutrition Science) is made from this Peruvian passion fruit.

“While there are many raw materials that work on a part of the skin, tests have shown that it has a healing effect on wounds by extracting it using the sub-distillation method. However, with the spread of upcycled raw materials, it is starting to attract attention again.” (Company)

In addition, we will also focus on proposing the chaga extract "Inolixir" (BASF). Chaga is a mushroom that grows densely on the surface of birch bark in boreal forests. It is also called the diamond of the forest, but it is said that it is a plant that cannot be eaten and has little use.

Normally, organic solvents are used to extract active ingredients from plants such as mushrooms, but Inolixir uses subcritical water extraction that does not use organic solvents. By increasing the temperature and pressure of water, the dielectric constant changes, and water acts like an organic solvent. Moreover, the extraction efficiency is higher than that of organic solvents.

A raw material that can be expected to care for stressed and sensitive skin, it promotes type IV collagen synthesis, improves dark circles by strengthening capillaries, suppresses interleukin production, and promotes keratinocyte keratinization.

"Environmentally-friendly raw materials are attracting attention, and recently, upcycling efforts have become active, but we will take a step forward and focus on raw materials that use environmentally friendly extraction methods."
