Growing interest in facial skin care among Indian men

 There seems to be a growing interest in facial skin care products among Indian men. According to a report recently released by global market research firm Mintel, three out of ten Indian men (30%) would like to try facial skin care. In the case of women, 26% showed an interest, and the interesting survey results revealed that men were more interested.


Examining data from the Mintel Global New Products Database (GNPD), over the past five years (August 2017 to July 2022), India has been the fastest growing number of new male beauty and personal care product launches in the APAC region. was leading. India topped the list at 20%, followed by China (15%) and Japan (10%).

Facial skin improvement seems to be an important item for Indian men. For men looking to use more facial skin care products, their top three skin conditions are oil-free skin (56%), acne-free skin (53%), and scar-free skin (50%). That was the result. These mean that there is a greater need to address problem skin concerns than to improve skin tone. In a survey of skincare product purchase factors, the two most important factors for men were that they were free of harmful chemicals (60%) and that they were based on advanced technology (52%).


Tanya Rajani, senior beauty and personal care analyst at the company, said, "A Global Consumer survey shows that men in India have a growing appetite for skincare, with 84% caring about their appearance just like women. This provides an opportunity for brands to successfully market skincare to men.”
