Developed a technology to extract raw materials for cosmetics from unused Akamoku

 Masaei Suisan Kako Co., Ltd. collects and processes akamoku (seaweed) and sells it as a processed food product, "Akamoku of Munakata". occurs. This unused Akamoku has been discarded because there was no effective use until now.

In order to make effective use of this, with the support of the center, cosmetic manufacturer Kashu Kogyo Co., Ltd. has conducted joint research with Masaei Suisan Kako Co., Ltd. We would like to inform you that we have developed a technology to extract a cosmetic raw material (Sargassum extract) from the Sargassum purpurea used.

The extracted Akamoku extract conforms to the "Standards for Quasi-drug Ingredients", one of the standards for cosmetic raw materials, and is expected to have a moisturizing and water-retaining effect on the skin.

Kashu Kogyo Co., Ltd. has commercialized the cosmetics "koi/awai" containing Akamoku extract, and has started selling it online and at stores nationwide.

In the same research, Masaei Suisan Kako Co., Ltd. developed “Akamoku gyoza”, which is made by putting unused Akamoku into gyoza filling, as a means of utilizing food loss. They are sold at farmers' markets throughout the prefecture.
