Consumers focus more on their health, mental and physical well-being

 Consumers who have experienced the pandemic are shifting their focus to mental health in terms of managing their physical and mental health, according to the latest research. He argued that balancing and managing stress are important contributors to good health.

Nearly 80% of consumers claimed that the amount and quality of sleep they received was the number one factor contributing to their overall health and well-being. It was followed by stress levels in second place and managing relationships with family/friends in third place. Most consumers appear to be knowledgeable about healthy lifestyles, saying they are somewhat (43%), know (37%) or very (13%). 

Consumers are likely to read more during the pandemic to acquire more knowledge about healthy lifestyles and mental health. According to NPD's BookScan, which tracks print and e-book sales in the U.S., print circulation of longevity-focused health and fitness books has increased 150% over the past three years, and has increased over the past year. alone increased by 145%. Sales of mental health-focused print books have nearly tripled since 2019, growing 150% over the past three years and growing 19% year-over-year by 2022.


The company's Health Aspirations and Behavioral Tracker found that exercise was the most contributory factor to health, followed by diet (food and drink choices).
