Supplied SR raw materials for the company's first food with functional claims made from rice-derived ceramides

The Tsuno Group's supplement "TSUNO Lyceramide" was accepted as the company's first food with functional claims.

We plan to start supplying rice-derived glucosylceramide, which is a functional component, as a raw material with SR by around FY2023.

The notification number is H475. Based on the data that the barrier function of the skin was improved by taking 1.8 mg of rice-derived glucosylceramide in people who were aware of their dry skin, we developed a product that "maintains moisture in the skin of those who tend to have dry skin." It was accepted with a functional label stating that it has a function (barrier function).

Founded in 1947, the company promotes the highly effective use of rice bran, and has developed a rice bran oil manufacturing business that has captured the top share, and a fine chemical business that handles rice-derived food and cosmetic ingredients. We are building a stable supply system for rice-derived materials.

Starting with this notification of food with function claims, the company has accumulated knowledge about the health functions of various raw materials derived from rice bran. In addition to disseminating the functionality of rice bran, we will promote efforts to submit functional labeling notifications for each raw material.

As a new business, we intend to develop a research review support business after establishing an organizational structure. In the future, in addition to developing an SR for rice bran-derived materials following rice-derived glucosylceramide, in the long term, we plan to build our own evidence through clinical trials with functional claim foods in mind.
