Euglena develops "Midori Koji Extract" as a new cosmetic raw material

Euglena Co., Ltd. has confirmed research results showing that MIDORI Koji Extract promotes the production of hyaluronic acid and glutathione in human epidermal keratinocytes and contributes to the maintenance of healthy skin.

Euglena Co., Ltd. announces that it has standardized "Midori Koji Extract" as a new cosmetic raw material using the unique material "Midori Koji" developed from the microalgae Euglena and Koji.

This time, the standardized “Midori Koji Extract” is a raw material that is extracted from Midori Koji. In our research, we have confirmed that "Midori Koji Extract" has the effect of promoting the production of hyaluronic acid and glutathione in epidermal keratinocytes and suppressing the carbonylation*5 of proteins in the stratum corneum. These results indicate the possibility that "Midori Koji Extract" enhances the moisturizing power of the skin, protects it from dryness and damage caused by external factors, and maintains the original brightness of the skin.

"Midori koji extract" enhances the moisturizing power of the skin, protects it from dryness and damage caused by external factors, and shows the possibility of maintaining the original brightness of the skin. In addition, in-house monitoring tests have shown that "Midori Koji Extract" may contribute to the improvement of wrinkles, and we plan to conduct clinical trials in the future.

Through further elucidation of Euglena and its components, we will continue to aim to improve the added value of Euglena in the fields of health foods and medicine, and to improve its added value as a food ingredient.
