Fermenstation realizes joint project between Sigmaxis Group and B Corp certified companies

Fermenstation Co., Ltd., a research and development startup that builds a society that recycles and circulates unused resources with its own fermentation technology, through co-creation with SIGMAXYZ Holdings Co., Ltd., which promotes business centered on consulting and investment business. , We have developed an aroma spray and disinfecting spray that contains ethanol manufactured by upcycling wine residue. Sigmaxys Holdings and Fermenstation, both of which are certified by the international B Corp certification system, are trying to create an impact through co-creation. We have come to realize a project that leads to multiple impacts, including cooperation with the local community.

The characteristics of Fermenstation's ethanol production are not only the unique fermentation technology and the ethanol obtained, but also the recycling of resources in the region centered on production and the realization of a circular economy. At Fermenstation, we commercialize the fermentation and distillation by-products generated in the ethanol manufacturing process into functional cosmetic raw materials, etc., upcycle all products into valuable products, and maintain a highly sustainable manufacturing process. and building a business model. In addition, we are promoting the use of fermentation and distillation by-products as feed for local chickens and cows, and we are building a recycling model with zero waste, such as using the manure of livestock (chicken manure) as fertilizer for paddy fields and fields. We are also working to create a local recycling society.

In this initiative as well, the “grape lees” (fermentation and distillation by-products) produced when ethanol is produced from “grape pomace” is recycled to the Quatre Center (local livestock farmers) operated by JA Iwate Esashi located near the factory. It was used as feed for cattle at a center that keeps and raises breeding Japanese cattle.
