Watahan Trading Launches Prickly Pear Yeast Protein

Watahan Trading Co., Ltd., which sells and imports and exports pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food raw materials, has started handling a new protein raw material, "Prickly Pear Cactus Yeast Protein," as a solution to the problem of insufficient protein intake.

Prickly pear cactus powder, which is rich in vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, is added to yeast-derived protein, which is attracting attention as a new protein raw material that is not conventional whey, casein, or soy, making it a more nutritious protein raw material.

Its high protein content and high fiber content are good for intestinal health and help normalize the intestinal flora.

Prickly pear yeast protein is slower to digest than whey or soy protein, so it can maintain amino acid levels in the blood for a longer period of time, and the effect lasts longer than other proteins. In other words, it fills you up well and is ideal for use as a diet or as a meal replacement.

Prickly pear cactus yeast protein is a sustainable and environmentally friendly raw material compared to conventional animal and vegetable protein raw materials. Sugarcane sugar and beet sugar are used to culture the yeast, which is the raw material. Industrial wastewater generated during yeast protein production can be used as organic fertilizer for sugar cane and beet cultivation.

In addition, the amount of CO2 and water generated in the manufacturing process is less than that of vegetable protein and animal protein.
