Hydrogel patch with mangosteen ingredient is effective for acne

 Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), which has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, has been used in traditional Thai medicine. In this study, we investigated the effect of a hydrogel patch using mangosteen pericarp on acne.


As a result, mangosteen hydrogel patches made from carrageenan and locust bean gum powder are yellow in color, smooth on the surface, durable/flexible, and effective against Acne, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Staphylococcus aureus. It was targeted. The active ingredient, α-mangostin, was released and permeated from the hydrogel patch within the first 30 minutes. A test in 30 healthy volunteers confirmed no irritation.
