The world's first extraction of "ceramide" that protects the skin's moisture from "soy sauce residue" that is discarded in large quantities

Words such as “SDGs” and “sustainable” have been used for a long time, but the world's first technology that utilizes the waste generated in the process of manufacturing something was born in Fukuoka Prefecture. That “something” is the seasoning “soy sauce” that is essential to our dining table.

Soy sauce lees from the soy sauce manufacturing process contain a component called ceramide, which enhances skin moisture and barrier function, but most of it was discarded.

The world's first technology for making cosmetics was born from the lees of soy sauce.

Ceramide is a component that originally exists in our skin, and has a barrier function that protects the skin from external stimuli and a moisturizing function that prevents moisture from escaping. Kai focused on the fact that fermented foods contain ceramide.

After several years of joint research with the union while making use of the prefectural system, they discovered that soy sauce contains the same type of ceramide found in human skin.

In contrast to conventional human-type ceramides that have been chemically synthesized, this is the first time in the world that the same type of ceramide that humans originally have (=human type) is extracted from natural materials.
