Johnson & Johnson changes global baby powder ingredients to cornstarch

 Johnson & Johnson announced that it will switch all of its baby powder ingredients to cornstarch. Talc-based JOHNSON' baby powder will be discontinued globally from 2023.


The company said it made this decision to simplify its product offering, deliver sustainable innovation and meet the needs of consumers, customers and evolving global trends. Cornstarch-based baby powder is already on the market around the world. In the future, we will do our best to make it the main item of JOHNSON'S® products, a global consumer health brand.


In May 2020, the company stopped manufacturing talc-based baby powder in the North American market due to numerous lawsuits, mainly in North America, alleging that talc-based baby powder products caused cancer with long-term use. and transitioned to a cornstarch base.
