Two Sumisho Group Companies Make Cosmetic Raw Materials Sustainable and Build a Food Waste SC

Sumitomo Corporation Group's Sumisho Cosmetics and Sumisho Foods will collaborate on the development of cosmetic ingredients from the perspective of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Recently, we have agreed to jointly embark on building a supply chain (SC) for the development of cosmetics using food residue and food loss as raw materials. Sumisho Foods will utilize its global supply network to procure the leftovers after squeezing vegetables and fruits, non-standard foods, etc., and Sumisho Cosmetics will make proposals to brand owners and raw material manufacturers. In the future, if necessary, we will consider opening factories and warehouses for drying and freezing raw materials and forming alliances with processing partners. Both companies act as a bridge between the cosmetics and food industries.
