POLA ORBIS HD gets SBT certification for greenhouse gas reduction targets

POLA ORBIS HOLDINGS has been certified as an "SBT Initiative" for the Group's greenhouse gas reduction targets for 2029.

Based on the Sustainability Statement, the company group has declared that it will continue to grow as a company that creates a sustainable society by facing all stakeholders and the global and social environment in good faith, and has also set it in sustainability plans and non-financial goals. "Environment" is taken up as one of the five priority areas.

With the acquisition of SBT certification this time, the goal of reducing CO2 emissions of Scope 1 and 2 set by the group by 42% by 2029 and CO2 emissions of Scope 3 by 30% was recognized.

As specific efforts, we are proceeding with information disclosure of risks and opportunities that climate change poses to businesses, scenario analysis, and switching to CO2 free electricity derived from 100% renewable energy at production plants and business establishments. Furthermore, the commitment level and effectiveness are enhanced by linking the degree of achievement of environmental goals to executive compensation in order to achieve the goals.

In the future, we will promote efforts to reduce the environmental burden together with business partners and consumers in order to achieve the greenhouse gas reduction targets for the entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, 3).
