Showa Denko introduces multi-active raw materials that respond to various environmental stresses

Showa Denko manufactures and sells six products, including vitamin C derivatives, vitamin E derivatives, vitamin P derivatives methyl hesperidin, and the new raw material "Moistol" as functional raw materials for skin care. All products are provided with physiological functions, physical properties, and prescription information so that they can be utilized in the product planning and development of customers.

"Moistol", a new raw material, is a sugar derivative made by adding oligosaccharide to inositol, and can be expected to have moisturizing effect, anti-inflammatory effect, anti-polution effect, and anti-aging effect on the skin, and moisturizing care for dry and sensitive skin. It can be used for various product planning such as cosmetics for the outside environment, UV care, and anti-aging.

Since "Moistol" is a water-soluble raw material, it can be blended into various skin care dosage forms such as lotion, all-in-one gel, milky lotion, and beauty essence, and the company also provides formulation samples of those prescriptions.

In the moisturizing effect test, it was confirmed that the addition of Moistol increased the production of ceramide in epidermal cells in a concentration-dependent manner, and the effect was significantly higher than that of inositol.

In addition, in a test that confirmed the transepidermal water loss of the skin, it was also found that the addition of Moistol suppresses water loss in a concentration-dependent manner.

From the above, "Moistol" can be expected to have a moisturizing effect by increasing the amount of ceramide, which is important for moisturizing the skin, improving the barrier function, and suppressing water loss.

Similar effects have been observed in human moisturizing clinical trials using Moistol, and it has been proved that Moistol is a raw material that promotes the moisturizing effect from the inside of the skin.
