Contains fermented ethanol that upcycles non-standard rice balls

Fermenstation Co., Ltd. and Nichirei Foods Inc., a research and development startup that builds a society that regenerates and circulates unused resources using its own fermentation technology, are unused with the aim of realizing a circular economy for a sustainable society. As an initiative of the resource regeneration and circulation partnership, fermented alcohol is refined from non-standard rice discharged in the manufacturing process of Nichirei Foods' frozen food "Yaki Onigiri 10 pieces", and its up-cycled ethanol is used. We have developed the original "Yaki Onigiri" disinfectant wet tissue.

Until now, Nichirei Foods has been working to solve various social issues as part of the "Hamidas Activities," an in-house revitalization project in which all employees voluntarily work beyond their areas of responsibility, such as food education, environmental activities, and social contributions. I have been working on it.

Currently, reducing food loss is one of the social issues. Nichirei Foods has been trying to reduce food loss by donating to children's cafeterias and food banks. In addition, all food residues that are inevitably produced during the production process of the factory are recycled into fertilizers and feeds. However, as a company that supports food, we wanted to realize a more prosperous society by adding "social value" to food residues and upcycling.

This time, as the first step of the up-cycle initiative, Fermentation Station's original fermentation that up-cycles non-standard products / by-products and non-standard products of agricultural products produced in the manufacturing process of foods and beverages to make fermented alcohol (ethanol). Technology has been selected as a co-creation destination, and we will reborn non-standard rice of Nichirei Foods' long-selling product "Yaki Onigiri 10 pieces" into disinfectant wet tissue and provide it. In addition, fermented lees, which are by-products generated during fermentation and distillation, are not used as garbage and are fully utilized as feed for chickens.
