Mandarin orange flower picking experience as a raw material for cosmetics Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture

 High school students in Karatsu City picked orange flowers, which are the raw material for cosmetics.

This initiative was opened by a cosmetics manufacturer headquartered in Nara Prefecture and having a factory in Karatsu City to encourage them to think about the cosmetics industry in Karatsu. On the 3rd, about 30 people, including students from Karatsu Nishi High School and their families, participated and picked white orange flowers in a field of 1400 square meters of Citrus unshiu in Karatsu City.

Mandarin orange flowers are used as a raw material for skin care cosmetics.

President Tatsuo Kurebe, a cosmetics manufacturer, said as follows. "I want high school students to know that cosmetics can be made from agricultural products in Karatsu. I wish I could do activities that can contribute to the community with cosmetics by taking raw materials."


Mandarin oranges are scheduled to be picked until the beginning of this month, with the aim of harvesting 120 kg.
