This study evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of 40% pyruvate in post-acne hyperpigmentation and scarring in Asians, especially Indians. Objective assessment of acne lesions, scarring and hyperpigmentation at 2-week intervals of 0-12 weeks with chemical peels in 30 patients with active acne and post-acne scarring and hyperpigmentation Was performed at 0, 4, 8, 12 and 24 weeks.

As a result, the number of acne was significantly reduced at 12 weeks compared to 0 week. Similarly, there was a decrease in the number of papules. The acne score improved at 12 weeks and hyperpigmentation improved at 24 weeks.
