10 major Japanese companies participate in Plastic Circular Challenge 2025

Ten major companies such as Shiseido and Lion were advocated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF Japan) in February as part of efforts to promote advanced resource recycling of plastics toward the realization of a sustainable environment and society. Participate in the ambitious framework "Plastic Circular Challenge 2025" announced on the 22nd, with 2025 as an important milestone.

We will work to solve marine pollution and climate change problems in containers and packaging and disposable plastics, aiming to realize a more sustainable society.

Shiseido has established three actions to reduce the burden on the global environment, develop sustainable products, and promote sustainable and responsible procurement as a response to environmental issues, and is working to reduce the burden on the environment and use sustainable resources. Is being promoted.

In "development of sustainable products," we aim to make cosmetic containers 100% sustainable by 2025, and we will adopt "refill / replacement" containers that can be expected to reduce the amount of plastic and the environmental burden. We are actively developing initiatives such as designing containers that are easy to recycle and collecting used containers at stores.

Lion has set a new environmental goal "LION Eco Challenge 2050" for 2050, and is working on "eco-habituation" together with consumers in order to further expand its contribution to society as a whole.

Both companies have designed the input and disposal of new resources to be as close to zero as possible, and by promoting collection, reuse, and recycling, they will continue to use limited resources for as long as possible while circulating them, and reduce waste to zero. We support this framework, which advocates the system transformation of going within the limits of the earth, and fulfill our responsibilities as a manufacturer that sells products using plastic bottles and film containers.
