Toshiki Pigment begins construction of new factory for integrated manufacturing

Toshiki Pigment, which is engaged in OEM business centered on make-up, will start construction of a new factory that can carry out integrated manufacturing from bulk manufacturing to finishing of cosmetics from the beginning of 2022.

The operation is scheduled for around November of the same year, and we will work to expand production capacity and improve product quality and productivity by considering the environment and introducing the latest equipment that saves labor and labor.

The company recently held a press conference for the construction of the new factory.

Regarding the background of the establishment, Yasuhiro Shigehara, President and CEO, said, "In addition to the main Utsunomiya factory, we established a Yaita factory dedicated to finishing in 2017. Orders for high value-added skin care products were increasing, so we decided to build an integrated manufacturing plant that would increase production capacity and improve quality and productivity. "

The new factory is a two-story building adjacent to the existing Yaita factory, and the site area is 20,450 m2 alone, and when combined with the existing factory, it boasts about 30,000 m2. The investment amount is about 3 billion yen, and we have an integrated manufacturing system from manufacturing to filling and finishing centering on skin care, makeup, hair care, etc.

Next, Kazuhiko Takahashi, Managing Director and General Manager of Production Headquarters, explained the three characteristics of the factory. The first point is "enhancement of production capacity". "With the introduction of a new emulsification kettle, the bulk production volume will be 2.5 times higher than the past results for the entire company, and 4 times higher for double shifts and overtime work. We can achieve up to four times the quantity of our company as a whole compared to the past results. "

The second point is "improvement of product quality and productivity", and "to improve quality, work areas based on cosmetics GMP are divided and analysis and inspection are also in-house. Productivity improvement emphasizes efficiency in addition to integrated production. We will also aim to save labor by introducing the flow line design of IoT and DX. We will rebuild the Utsunomiya Factory, which has partially relocated the production line to the new factory, to make effective use of it. "

The third point is the realization of the newly proposed concept "Toiro Care Makeup". This concept focuses on seven types of care, including products, information, and sustainability, and aims to create products that take into consideration the skin, physical functions, time to commercialization, global environment, people, and so on.

Specifically, consideration is given to "reduction of CO2 emissions" such as utilization of solar power generation, "reduction of environmental load" including recycling of used water, and "work-life balance" such as reduction of night shift and shift work. I will do it.
