Ichimaru Falcos contributes to improving treatment quality for over 30 years in research

Ichimaru Falcos, a manufacturer of functional raw materials in the fields of cosmetics, quasi-drugs, and health foods, develops and sells several new raw materials a year, and currently handles about 1000 raw materials. It can be said that the active investment in research and development of such new raw materials is supported by long-selling raw materials that have been used for decades.

The hematin-containing hair care raw material "Grosphilin P (PF)" <hematin liquid> introduced here is one of the representative raw materials, and even now, more than 30 years after its release, cosmetics and quasi-drugs for hair salons. It is used as a raw material.

Grosphyrin P is a dark brown liquid containing the porphyrin derivative "hematin" with a molecular weight of 663.5 produced from hemoglobin as the main component, and is blended in treatment products such as perms, hair colors, and treatments.

In the latter half of 1970, the company focused on the bioactivity of porphyrin derivatives and started research. The polyferin compound was found to have various effects such as enzyme activity, hair growth effect, and hair repair, and was launched in 1989 as a raw material for hair care cosmetics. Currently, it sells "Grosphilin P," a raw material that can be mixed with quasi-drugs derived from pigs.

The iron atom in the center of the polyphyllin skeleton of "Grossphyrin P" easily coordinates with the hair keratin protein histidine (His) when applied to the hair, and is in a state where it easily binds to the hair. In addition, it has the property of easily binding to the SH group of the vinyl group (CH-H3) and the keratin protein cysteine (Cys). From these characteristics, it has been confirmed that "Grosphyrin P" has a permanent wave retaining effect, a hydrogen peroxide solution scavenging effect, a mercaptan odor deodorizing effect, a tyrosinase activity promoting effect, and a hair firmness improving effect.
