A feat in a research paper on bath salts containing bathclin and tannic acid

Bathclin, a bath salt maker, has published a paper "The effect of tannic acid on bath salts on atopic skin patients" in a joint research with Mr. Hidemichi Hiroshi, a special adviser to Hiroshima University Hospital. Received the award.

This paper was published in the Journal of the European Society of Dermatological and Immunological Allergies (JCIA), and gave an award lecture at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Dermatological and Immunological Allergies on November 26, 2021.

According to the company, "The use of bath salts not only has a general effect, but also assists the treatment with medicines prescribed by doctors in the medical field, and as a skin care that can play a synergistic role, it suffers from skin troubles. I'm glad that I can contribute to people. "

Atopic dermatitis is known to have a characteristic that symptoms tend to appear in places such as the inside of the face and elbows and the back of the knees where sweat is easy to sweat or accumulate. This characteristic is considered to be due to the fact that the antigen in sweat acts as an aggravating factor for atopic dermatitis and causes an immediate allergic reaction.

In the joint research, we searched for a component that neutralizes the antigen in sweat from crude drugs and plant components, and found that tannic acid obtained from the crude drug Gobaishi has an excellent effect. It is expected that tannic acid is adsorbed on the skin surface and neutralizes the antigen in sweat, thereby suppressing the release of histamine from skin mast cells and reducing itching.

Bath salts can easily act on the skin of the whole body with effective ingredients. Therefore, in order to confirm that the symptoms of atopic dermatitis are improved by a new mechanism of neutralizing the antigen in sweat with "tannic acid", "tannic acid-containing bathing agent" and "tannic acid" are used. A test was carried out using "a bathing agent that does not contain".

As a result, when the bath salt containing tannic acid was used, itching was significantly reduced at night in patients with mild to moderate illness as compared with the case where the bath salt containing no tannic acid was used. It was also confirmed that itching at night and during the day was significantly reduced before and after the use of the tannic acid-containing bath salt for 2 weeks.

From the above, by using a bathing agent containing tannic acid, itching of atopic dermatitis can be easily suppressed through daily bathing, skin damage due to scratching can be suppressed, the therapeutic effect of the drug can be enhanced, and patients with atopic dermatitis can be treated. It can be expected to improve QOL.
