According to the article, in 2017, Fukumitsuya found that sake lees contain abundant human-type ceramides NP and AP, which are the same components as ceramides that human skin has, and succeeded in extracting high concentrations in the following 18 years. bottom.

Compared to other ceramides, NP and AP are superior in moisturizing power and barrier effect, and from July 2021 they received a new product development subsidy from the city and started developing cosmetic ingredients.

The development will proceed with Associate Professor Sogo Nishimoto of the Department of Food Science, a prefectural university specializing in food immunology, with the aim of improving the beauty function with a view to utilizing it for cosmetic lotions.

According to the report, Associate Professor Nishimoto has high hopes for this ingredient, saying that it may also have the effect of promoting the ceramide-producing function of the skin.
