Shiseido conducts sustainability activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its Chinese business July 28, 2021

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of its business in China, Shiseido will carry out the "Future Innovation Project", a sustainability activity to support young people who will create the future, with the China Youth Development Foundation. We are soliciting works related to art and science, which is one of Shiseido's DNA, from elementary and junior high school students all over China, creating opportunities for young people full of hope to demonstrate their creativity for the future, and their dreams. To support the project works were solicited from June, and 120 works were selected by the China Youth Development Foundation from about 820 entries, which were announced on a special website for smartphones on July 16.In addition, 40 works selected based on the criteria of "meaning of the subject", "expression method", and "sense of beauty", centered on the designers of Shiseido China Design Department, will be selected on Shiseido China's official website and social media. It has been sent since the 21st of March. Shiseido's China business, which started with sales of imported products at hotels in Beijing in 1981, has sales in 2020 accounting for 25.6% of consolidated sales, driving the growth of the entire group, and is a medium- to long-term management plan. Under "WIN 2023 and Beyond," we are focusing on the skin beauty field, developing digital businesses, strengthening innovation, and managing management with a focus on sustainability. Sales have been strong, and sales in the e-commerce business in mainland China have grown by more than 50% year-on-year, achieving strong growth in the digital field. The China Business Innovation Investment Office, established in 2019, promotes innovation and new business development of existing businesses in collaboration with external partners.
