Nikko Chemicals becomes the first ASD company in Japan from the perspective of SDGs

Nikko Chemicals will become the first member company of Action For Sustainable Derivatives in Japan from the perspective of promoting SDGs, and will pursue transparency in the supply chain of palm oil derivatives and palm oil-derived products in which the company is involved.

Action For Sustainable Derivatives (ASD) is an inter-company initiative that promotes the generation and sharing of "information", "data" and "solutions" in the supply chain of palm oil derivatives, mainly in order to accelerate the transformation of the entire overseas personal care industry. As a collaborative organization, we aim to support livelihoods in production areas by adhering to NDPE principles, prohibiting deforestation, and respecting human rights.

The company owns many palm oil-derived products, but due to the complex structure of its supply chain, it has not been able to fully grasp the transparency of the production process. By becoming an ASD member, the company will identify the production area that is the source of the company's supply and proceed with the investigation down to the factory level and, if possible, the farm level.
