Iwase Cosfa submits notification of food with functional claims containing tea flower extract

Iwase Cosfa Co., Ltd. has announced that its tea flower extract tablet supplement "Chahanari Support", which had been submitted to the Consumer Affairs Agency, has been accepted as a food with function claims.

This product, which contains 1.17 mg of chacasaponin, a functional component, is a food with function claims that suppresses fat absorption during meals and blood triglycerides that rise after meals, and is the company's first registered product.

Tea flower extract is extracted from the flower part of tea, which is familiar to Japanese people. Tea blossoms are small white flowers resembling camellias, and have been eaten by people since the Kamakura period. In recent years, attention has been focused on the components and pharmacological activities of tea flowers, so the company has been developing it as a functional raw material. This time, by conducting a new clinical trial, it was confirmed that chakasaponin is effective in suppressing the elevation of triglycerides.
