Albion Adopts New Biomass PET Resin for Cosmetic Containers

Albion has adopted Kuraray's new biomass PET resin "Biocrapet" released in July 2022 for cosmetic containers.

From January 2023, we started to roll out promotional mini bottles (30 mL) of the Flarune series "Fuwari Cleansing Oil".

As a high-end cosmetics manufacturer, the company has pursued design and quality suitable for high-end products, not only in product content, but also in package development. In addition to the ease of use of our products, we have also taken into account consideration for the environment, and have worked to reduce the environmental burden by using biomass plastic materials in many of our products. This time, we decided to adopt a new biomass PET resin in consideration of further environmental considerations.

PET resin is a plastic material that is widely used for cosmetic containers. Among them, Kuraray's proprietary modified PET resin "Kurapet" excels in the container manufacturing method called direct blow molding. In addition, it has been used for many cosmetics containers due to its beautiful finish, high content resistance, and strength.

Since the release of the biomass PET resin "Biocrapet" from the "Crappet" series was being considered, the company will spend about one and a half years from 2021. I have checked the face.

As a result, we were able to confirm that approximately 30% of the weight of "Biocrapet" is made from plant-derived raw materials and that it is environmentally friendly. With the start of sales of Tsuki no Kuraray's resin, it was decided to adopt it as the first promotional mini bottle. In the future, we will expand the adoption of this technology to new products.
