POLA Ranked 3rd in Forbes Top Management Execution Ability Ranking

Miki Oikawa, the president of POLA, won the WOMEN AWARD in the individual category at the Forbes JAPAN WOMEN AWARD, which is given to women who open up their own paths and work in their own way. Received 3rd place in top management execution ability ranking in above 1000 people category.

Ms. Oikawa will serve as POLA's first female president from 2020, and has announced a policy to raise the ratio of female managers from the current around 30% to around 50% by 2029.

At the time of hiring, the company, which is half male and half female, sees the problem that the ratio of female managers remains at 30%. With a goal of 50%, we're working to eliminate the unconscious biases and compassionate exclusions that work when listing candidates for positions.

In addition, we will change the scope of application of personnel systems and welfare programs, which until now were intended for legal spouses, family members, and relatives, to "substantial family members and relatives," including common-law spouses and same-sex partners. We are also striving to create an environment where people can be recognized fairly and demonstrate their abilities, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or family structure.
