Investment fund of Shiseido China invested in Trautec

The Shiyue Fund, an investment fund established by Shiseido through the Chinese investment company Boyu Capital and Shiseido (China) Investment Co., Ltd., is the first investment in Jiangsu Trautec Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Trautec. We have decided to invest approximately 100 million yuan (approximately 2 billion yen) as the lead investor and conclude a strategic collaboration agreement.

Through this investment and strategic collaboration agreement, the company will collaborate with Trautec on research and development, raw material procurement, sales channels, etc., and accelerate the development of new areas in the rapidly growing functional skin care market in China.

Established in 2015, Trautec is a company that manufactures and sells genetically modified collagen for medical and cosmetic applications. As a pioneer company in this field, the company has multiple patents and know-how related to genetically modified collagen, and conducts business activities from research and development to manufacturing and sales in China, including production at a factory in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. All done in-house.

In China, the number of consumers seeking effective solutions to skin concerns is increasing, and the functional skin care market that promotes specific functions is expanding. Among them, the demand for genetically modified collagen is expected to expand in a wide range of fields such as medicine, health care, and cosmetics due to its stability and high efficacy.

Through this fund, we will fuse the new value of Shiseido and emerging companies, further expand our business portfolio in China, respond to diversifying consumer needs, and steadily strengthen growth in China.
