Confirmed efficacy and safety of dissolving microneedle patch for acne

 In this study, we examined the clinical efficacy and safety of dissolving microneedle patches that can effectively deliver drugs to the body. A 28-day study was conducted using dissolvable microneedles once daily. Evaluations also assessed skin pigmentation, acne severity and volume, and skin irritation by self-report and dermatologist examination.


As a result, the dissolvable microneedle patch showed excellent efficacy such as improving skin pigmentation and reducing the amount of acne. The amount of pimples decreased by 12.34% after using the dissolving microneedle patch for 3 days, and further decreased by 10.01% after using it continuously for 7 days. After 28 days of treatment, skin melanin decreased by 5.88%. No adverse reactions were observed.
