[Issues faced by Japanese companies - sometimes forced to give up business]

In order to distribute cosmetics in the market in China, it is necessary to register and apply for registration of cosmetic products in advance. It is a cosmetic ingredient that can be used as the first barrier for Japanese companies. It is said that about 15,000 to 16,000 cosmetic raw materials are approved for use as cosmetic ingredients in Japan, but only about 9,000 are approved in China.

Therefore, when registering Japanese cosmetics in China, it is often necessary to adjust the ingredients that cannot be used in China, and it is not uncommon to have to give up exporting because adjustments cannot be made.

Under these circumstances, there have been voices for some time that the number of ingredients that can be used in China should be increased to the same level as overseas.
