Kao and Kose start collaboration in the area of sustainability

Kao and Kose will collaborate comprehensively in the area of sustainability in the cosmetics business as the first step in the "horizontal recycling of cosmetic plastic bottles" promoted by Kao and "painting, etc." with which Kose has cooperated. Started collaboration in "Efforts to Recycle Cosmetics".

In the future, both companies will implement the initiatives they have been promoting, and will promote and develop them in collaboration while making use of each other's knowledge.

Regarding collaboration between Kao and Kose in the area of sustainability, the activity themes are "Efforts to contribute to the realization of environmental protection and a sound material-cycle society" and "Efforts to contribute to the solution of social issues", and the project team of both companies is discussing them.

Kao began using chemically recycled PET materials manufactured by the Japan Environmental Design Group for bottle containers of "TWANY" in June 2021, and from February this year, new products such as "est", "LISSAGE" and "DEW". Also, we have decided to introduce it one by one. In addition, from February to the end of July this year, used cosmetic plastic bottles will be collected at the Aeon directly managed stores in the Kanto area that handle "TWANY" and the "Color Studio" in the Aeon Mall, and will be owned by the Japan Environmental Design Group. We are working on a demonstration experiment for horizontal recycling of plastic containers using chemical recycling technology.

In the future, we will work with Kose to promote horizontal recycling of "bottle-to-bottle" by collecting used cosmetic plastic bottles and recycling them into cosmetic bottles. Then, we will bring together the knowledge of both companies and accelerate the construction of a collaborative scheme between Kao and Kose.

At Kose, we support the business of manufacturing and selling color materials such as paints from cosmetics that are no longer used by Morngata, and provide cosmetics that will not eventually become products in the process of quality pursuit and quality control at the laboratory. We have promoted an up-cycle to add new value by recycling cosmetics that have finished their role.

In the future, Kao will promote activities to protect the global environment by providing cosmetics that did not finally become a product and expanding upcycling efforts in the process of quality pursuit and quality control at the research institute. go.
