Rapid increase in interest in beauty supplement products in India

 Interest in beauty supplement products seems to be growing rapidly in India. In particular, with the importance of hair care and hair health being watched, an increasing number of consumers are adopting beauty supplements to prevent hair loss. According to the company's Global New Product Database (GNPD) released by global market research firm Mintel on the 18th, the new product market for hair loss prevention shampoo in India is 12%, which is the strongest new product development in the Asia-Pacific region. More than half of Indian consumers who have faced hair loss / damage in the last six months appear to have taken supplements such as vitamins and minerals.

In March 2021, the company surveyed 3,000 Internet users over the age of 18 about beauty supplements, and found that 75% of respondents said that regular intake of vitamins, minerals, and supplements was their overall health. I agreed that it would be useful for wellness. 28% said they plan to start using cosmetology supplements within the next 12 months.

A survey of how to take cosmetology supplements found that about one-third (32%) of Indian consumers were interested in cosmetology supplements offered in the form of snacks / sweets. In addition, nearly half (46%) said taste was one of the key factors in trying vitamins, minerals and supplements.

In developing new products for beauty supplements in the future, Mintel Cosmetology & Personal Care Analyst Tanya Rajani said, "It's time to move away from tablets and consider formats such as organic drinks and effervescent tablets. We need to explore the possibilities of locally popular fruits and flavors such as Indian Gooseberry, Kesar and Badam Pista. "
